I do not know anything about the history of this total station. When I received it , I set it up right away on the tripod and put it in a charged battery for test. It turned on normally. The laser beam came on as well as the display changed accordingly when I attempted to level it. I nocided right there there was an issue as the digital bubble display does not match the tribrach bubble level. When I tried to measure a first point I got “error 1290″. So it came to my mind to check the telescop vertical movement which I found out had a small resistence at some point around the 180 degrees that is noticeable. The horizontal movement was smooth and normal. No need to insist, the device has an issue. I have no idea. Has it been knocked over, did it have any sort of shock? I do not know. Then I tried a last thing to access the menu, which was successful. I could navigate through the menu and had access to all the aps and programs. So I will clearly say this sale is FORT PARTS ON A NON WORKING DEVICE. NO RETURN WILL BE ACCEPTED. The keyboard-screen display, the side plates, the battery door, the eyepiece, the orange case foam insert etc. Are all precious parts. But also some parts inside could be used. I don’t know about the motherboard but yes there may be some inside parts that could be used. It does not come with a tribrach; one of the latches of the orange carrying case is missing as the hinge holder is damaged, the handle screws are missing as well.
